BASIC Camera Knowledge Workshop(Film Photography with Digital Camera Knowledge)

Saturday, February 21st, 12-2pm, $80

Build a strong foundation in how cameras work, with a focus on exposure, light metering, and understanding different camera types. We will compare film and digital workflows so you can feel confident shooting in any format. Please bring your own camera if you have one; a limited number of film cameras are available to borrow.

Photography Editing

Saturday, February 22nd, 12-2pm, $80

Learn a simple, practical editing workflow with a focus on portrait images, lighting adjustments, and clean, natural-looking results. We will cover selecting images, basic corrections, and building consistency across a set of photos. Please bring your laptop.

Film Processing and Scanning

Saturday and Sunday, March 7th and 8th, 12-3pm, $200

Learn how to develop black and white film using a standard D-76 process, then scan your negatives into high-quality digital files. This is a two-part class: developing on day one and scanning on day two. Bring already-shot black and white film, and bring a laptop or a USB drive for saving files.

Lighting Workshop (Continuous /Flash)

Continuous Lighting Workshop: Saturday, March 21st, 12-2pm, $120

Flash Lighting Workshop: Sunday, March 22nd, 12-2pm, $120

Learn lighting step by step across two sessions, covering continuous light and basic flash techniques with simple modifiers. You will practice shaping light for portraits and still life, and learn settings that work in real shooting situations. Bring a digital or film camera.

Cameraless Photography (Alternative printmaking)

Saturday, April 4th, 12-2pm, $80

Experiment with camera-less and low-tech image making using techniques like phytograms and lumen prints. This class focuses on playful exploration, material tests, and learning how light creates an image on light-sensitive surfaces. Materials are provided.

Cyanotype Printing

Saturday, April 25th, 12-2pm, $80

Create cyanotype prints on paper and fabric, and learn how to coat, expose, wash, and finish your work. Materials are provided.

Photo Lecture: Composition and Creative Seeing Discussion

Saturday, May 9th, 12-2pm, $80

Strengthen your visual language through guided topics, exercises, and group critique. We will explore creative approaches and technical methods to support stronger storytelling in your images. You are welcome to bring your own work for group discussion.

Photo Walk: Exchange District

Saturday, May 23rd, 12-2pm, FREE

Join an on location photo walk for both digital and film shooters, with mini prompts and assignments to help you practice seeing, composing, and working with available light. This is a relaxed, supportive way to shoot alongside others. Bring your camera.

Floral Film: Sustainable Film Process and Printing Class

Saturday and Sunday, June 13th, 14th, 12-3pm, $200

Learn a more mindful approach to film processing and printing across two sessions, focusing on workflow, technique, and reducing waste where possible. You will develop your film and create prints from your negatives. Bring already-shot film.

Direct Animation

Saturday, June 27th, 12-2pm, $80

Explore hands-on animation by working directly on film using dye, etching, drawing, gluing, hole punching, and other tactile techniques. This class is experimental and beginner-friendly, with lots of room to play and test ideas. An optional add-on session may cover scanning and creating loops in Photoshop.

Scanning Workshop

Sunday, June 28th, 12-2pm, $80

Learn how to scan developed film and turn your negatives into clean, high-quality digital files. We will cover basic settings, resolution, file types, and simple adjustments for better results. Bring developed film, and bring a laptop or a USB drive to save your files. We are able to scan small film to medium format.
